Orust is a large island located in southern Bohuslan (Bohuslän). You can drive your car onto Orust in order to explore the island. Henan (Henån), on the islands north shore, with a population of approximately 2,000 people is the islands central town. Here you will find a shopping square, hotels and a harbour.

Henån was founded as a bathing town and today in nearby Slussen, Slussens Homestead allows you to experience the original feeling of the early settlers. The homestead is located to the east of Henån in a tranquil setting and has rooms that face the naturally stunning Swedish west coast. In nearby Stillingsön you will find a bathing township by the lakes.

Orust has its own 18-hole golf course that winds through the Bohuslän nature. The combined seaside parkland golf course is highly rated among the golf courses in Bohuslän.

On Gullholmen you can see the relics of the old herring industry from the 16th and 17th centuries. At Stenstugan (Rock Cottage) there museum that gives an overview of life as it once was on the island.

There are numerous guest harbours and bathing places on Orust. There is also a rich culture with numerous museums and cultural trails and also nature trails.
